FAQ

Top questions from our Guests!

1. Can we come for the day or do we need to stay at your resort?

Come for the day or stay for the week!  Our trips can be enjoyed in one day, two days, or even over a week.  We have many things to do here.

2. Do I need to have experience?

No.  Our trips are suitable for all experience levels.  Some weight and age restrictions do apply.

3. Will I get wet while rafting?

Yes, plan for getting wet on all of our rafting trips.

4. Can we pay when we get there?

No.  Payments are made at the time of reservation.  However, we will try to accomodate walk-in business.  Reservations are highly recommended.

5. Can I bring a pet?

While we love animals here at Wildman Adventure Resort, we do have a strict no pet policy.  Your pets will be happier at home, while you are enjoying adventures.

6. When do you start running trips?

We start rafting in mid-April and we will operate through mid-October.  All other activities start around May 1st.

7. Do you provide a shuttle between the two locations?

Everyone has their own itinerary.  Therefore, our guests are responsible for their own transportation between our two Outposts.  The distance is about 40 miles.  Ask us about the waterfalls you can see as you travel between the two locations!

8. Do you have firewood?

Yes. In fact, we recommend pre-ordering firewood for your stay.  We will have it delivered and waiting for you by the time you arrive! Thinking of bringing your own?  The department of Natural Resources has restrictions on transporting firewood over county lines.  Buying your firewood locally will prevent the spread of disease through the forests.

9. When is the best time to go white water rafting?

While the spring season typically brings the highest water levels of the year, we are fortunate to have great water levels year round.

10. Can I bring my own equipment?

Any outside equipment cannot be used on our adventures.  This includes items such as PFD’s, helmets, paintball markers, harnesses, climbing devices, paddles, and boats.  All the gear you will need is provided for each trip we offer.

11. Which is the better river to raft?

The Peshtigo River changes with the seasons.  You can experience the river at higher levels and in larger boats in the spring and you’ll be in individual rafts during the summer months when the water is lower.  The Menominee River is a larger volume river and always takes place in an 8-9 person raft.  You will experience the largest rapids in the Midwest!  Both rivers provide a great experience.  For those that can’t decide…you can easily do both in the same day!

12. Do you have lodging?

Yes. We offer a variety of lodging options here.  From deluxe cabins to rustic. We also offer great riverside tent camping.

The guided trips here at Wildman are a great way to be introduced to the many adventure opportunities available here in the Midwest. We are here to help you plan a great trip that will suit your interests and experience level. Let us know how we can help!
