Why Wildman Adventure Resort?
Wildman Adventure Resort is one of the very best places for a Boy & Girl Scout Troop or Venture Crew. We offer tons of outdoor experiences that allow members to work as a team, learn trust, conquer fears, and forge bonds that will last a lifetime — all while experiencing the best of nature.
Troops will be able to camp in the forest along the Peshtigo River, where they’ll have access to hiking, fishing, and more. If sleeping in the great outdoors is not fit for your troop, we also have large cabins to accommodate troops as well.
They’ll enjoy a sand volleyball court, horseshoes, a pavilion for snacks and meals, and a fireplace for roasting marshmallows at the end of the night.
Our resort is unique because of its family-friendly atmosphere that welcomes troops, families, couples, and everything in between.
Our guides love to take care of Boy & Girl Scout Troops
Our guides are some of the best around. They’re so good in fact, that year after year, Scouts return to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in hopes of finding the same guide they had the year before.
What makes them so good? They are most interested in teaching Scouts about the beautiful nature surrounding them while engaging them in unforgettable, character-building activities with their troop or crew.
They are concerned with the safety and well-being of every Scout they lead, and they form a bond with troops that will last a lifetime.
They’re not just leaders — by the end of the adventure, they’re friends.
What kind of adventures are available for troops and crews?
The short answer? Adventures you’ll never forget.
At Wildman Adventure Resort, we provide adventures that create memories that last forever, while teaching Scouts how to respect and navigate through the nature of Wisconsin.
To let you in on a secret — whitewater rafting is definitely our most popular attraction. You’d be hard-pressed to find better whitewater rafting than what is offered in Northeastern Wisconsin.
That being said, whitewater rafting is far from being the only adventure we offer. Take a look below to read about more options available for scout adventures.
Alpine Tower High Ropes Course
Whether you want to challenge your friends or your troop leader, the 60 foot, Alpine Tower High Ropes Course offers you the chance to practice your problem-solving skills while navigating the ropes course from the sky.
This is a great team building event since it teaches Boy & Girl Scouts how to support, communicate, and cheer on their teammates while learning the basics of belaying and knot tying.
Kayak Lake Tour
What’s better than a relaxing paddle through the Northwoods by kayak?
Troop members will float through the High Falls flowage together, as they spot a variety of wildlife, including bald eagles, turkey vultures, black bears, coyotes, and even river otters!
They’ll be able to experience the great outdoors together, and maybe even challenge each other to take a plunge off a cliff at the end of the paddle!
Whitewater Rafting on the Menominee or Peshtigo Rivers
Experience the biggest whitewater rafting in all of the Midwest right here in Wisconsin! Choose to be in a group raft on the Menominee River or conquer the Peshtigo in your own inflatable kayak. Your scouts can experience rapids from Class II-IV.
Play games in the water, defeat the rapids, and build a team bond along the way!
Standup Paddleboarding
Test your balance on the standup paddleboarding tour!
Scouts will learn a new skill as they learn to balance on the paddleboard and navigate through the calm waters of the lakes.
Groups won’t have to worry about boats passing by but will be able to enjoy the serene views ahead of them and see wildlife like loons, eagles, deer, and black bear.
Menominee River Zip Line Tour
For a group that loves adrenaline, the zip line tour is perfect!
Scouts will fly platform to platform over 1,900 feet, along the Menominee River and experience the wind in their hair as trees go whizzing by!
Rock climbing and Rappelling
The Iron Mountain area provides the perfect place for troops to practice conquering fears together.
Rock climbing is the perfect way to learn how to trust others, conquer fears, and cheer on your troop members. The view from the top is unbelievable!

"Best part of the summer!"
“Wildman Adventure Resort is the best outdoor adventure resort we have worked with. We have planned several Boy Scout adventure trips over the last 6-8 years and Wildman is the best to work with. From the first call to find out what they offer to the weeks and days before our trip, they made sure everything was ready for us.
The Adventures were amazing! The rafting on the Menominee and the Peshtigo Rivers was a rush, and the Paintball and Alpine Towers were so much fun!
The staff- Dan, Steph, Marcus, Maddox, Angelo, Rosso, James, and all of the names I am forgetting- you guys ROCK! Your enthusiasm made our week phenomenal!
And Marcus – the Piggly Wiggly donuts were the Bomb!
We had an amazing time, and our scouts said the trip was the best part of their summer!”
"Boy Scout Adventure"
“The boys camped at Wildman on beautiful campsite along the river and then went ziplining and rafting on the Menominee River. The kids and adults all had a great time and have plans to go back next year. The guides were great with the kids. Wildman was easy to work with and very helpful throughout the organization process. Highly recommend!”
Best Girl Scout Trip in the Midwest!
““The camping spot was phenomenal. I don’t think we were expecting to camp that close to the river. It was such a nice view, and falling asleep to that sound was amazing.
The guides were phenomenal. They were all excited to be there. Super informative and helpful. I never felt unsafe. Everybody made it feel so safe and comfortable that it was just such a good experience.””

FAQs about Scout Adventures at Wildman
Wildman focuses on general high adventure and team-building experiences rather than classroom-style programming. Many troops use our guided activities to help Scouts work toward badges, patches, or outdoor advancement goals. We also offer a BSA Whitewater Award trip, which fulfills all requirements for the award (note: this is not a merit badge). Our trips are designed to challenge Scouts physically and mentally while reinforcing leadership, communication, and confidence in the outdoors.
Our most popular Scout itinerary includes riverside camping paired with four activities over multiple days, combining rafting on both rivers with the alpine climbing tower and zipline tour. Activities are fully guided, and itineraries can be customized to match your troop’s goals, ages, and experience level.
Troops get the most out of their Wildman experience when Scouts are 10 years old or older. Some activities, such as rock climbing, require Scouts to be at least 12 years old. Many troops bring mixed-age groups and split into smaller teams so older and younger Scouts can participate in age-appropriate adventures at the same time. We regularly work with troop leaders to plan schedules that maximize participation for everyone.
We host small Scout groups all the way up to large troops of 30 or more Scouts. Our property, activities, and lodging options are designed to support groups of many sizes. Larger troops often rotate through activities or divide into sub-groups, allowing everyone to stay engaged while maintaining safety and quality instruction.
While there is inherent risk with any outdoor adventure, safety is a top priority at Wildman. All adventures are guided by certified, professionally-trained staff, and we provide all required safety equipment. Our guides are professionally trained, including CPR, First Aid, and Swiftwater Rescue certification for river trips. Our zipline and high ropes course are inspected annually by a third-party, and we have multiple Swiftwater Rescue instructors on staff. We can provide a letter of accreditation or certificate of insurance upon request for Scout councils or troop leaders.
The majority of our Scout groups stay for 3-4 nights. Scout groups can choose from riverside camping, glamping, or Deluxe Cabins depending on comfort level and group needs. Many troops enjoy camping for a traditional Scout experience, while others opt for cabins to simplify logistics or accommodate mixed-age groups. Lodging options make it easy to stay on-site and move seamlessly between activities.
Yes. Meal options are flexible to match your troop’s style. Some groups choose catered lunches for easy meals between activities, others opt for a full meal plan, and some prefer to chef up their own campfire meals.
Scout trips run throughout the season, from mid-April through fall. Spring is popular for troops hoping to experience high water on the Peshtigo River, while summer and early fall offer access to the full range of Wildman adventures. Even early in the season, activities like ziplining, the Alpine Tower, and paintball are available, making Wildman a strong option for early or late-season Scout outings.
Absolutely. We’ll work with you to curate an adventure trip that fits your troops timeframe and budget. Visiting during the week (Monday to Thursday) is a great way to take advantage of our weekday discount on trips.
Most Scout troops stay 3–4 nights, especially when booking our popular four-activity package that includes camping, rafting on both rivers, and ropes or climbing challenges. Shorter trips are also possible, and itineraries can be customized to fit weekend outings or extended high-adventure experiences.
Scout leaders choose Wildman because we make high adventure trips easy to plan and unforgettable to experience. With guided activities, flexible lodging, meal options, and experienced staff who understand Scout group needs, leaders can focus on their Scouts instead of logistics. Wildman delivers the challenge, safety, and camaraderie that define a great Scout high adventure camp in Wisconsin.
